Ordinary Child was set up by three young boys, brothers living in Hong Kong and wanting to raise money for charity. The twins were 10 years old and their younger brother, 7.
Their first project was writing and performing a song called ‘Ordinary Child’ to raise money for the preservation of marine biodiversity. They believed that ordinary children can still make a difference.
In 2016, they illustrated a book of family tales called ‘The Liquorice Stories’ before returning to the UK.
At the end of 2020, shortly before his 16th birthday, Kasper was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. We were all to discover how radically underfunded childhood cancer research is and how little progress has been made in childhood cancer treatments over the last 20 years.
Kasper’s younger brother, Myron (a chorister) enlisted the help of his friend Archie (former chorister and semi-finalist in the BBC Chorister of the year 2020) to record an album to raise money for childhood cancer. The LOVE IS. Album is available on the Ordinary Child shop with special Gold Signed edition for Childrens’ Cancer Awareness Month.
